History In the Making
Formerly Tabernacle of Victory and Deliverance Worship Center, Inc. Our Senior Pastor Apostle Emma Speaker Dickens founded the Tabernacle of Victory and Deliverance Worship Center, Inc. (TVDWC) in 1990. Apostle Dickens was led to the Scotland Neck, North Carolina area after having a vision in which she saw people crying out to be saved.
TVDWC's first edifice was located at 27475 South Hobgood Highway in Scotland Neck. This was the home of TVDWC for 5 years.
This building now is the corporate office of Bridging the Gap Community Development Corporation, which is a non-profit agency also founded by Apostle Dickens.
Through the divine favor of God, TVDWC was able to purchase the former Watson Chevrolet Building in 1998. The new edifice, however, was flooded out in September 1999 soon after it was purchased due to Hurricane Floyd. Hurricane Floyd was also responsible for the destroying of many lives, businesses, and other church homes in the Scotland Neck area. Despite the destruction, the Tabernacle stood strong. The ministry was rebuilt and refurbished because of personal sacrifices, laboring of church family, and Missionary assistance from Pastor Glenn Jacob of Charlotte, North Carolina.
TVDWC's name was changed to Kingdom Empowerment Ministries, Inc (KEM) in November of 2008 to reflect the Shifting that had taken place within the Ministry. Today, there are three campuses: the Main Campus (KEM 1), Greenville Campus (KEM 2), and the Windsor Campus (KEM 3). KEM 2 held their first service on Saturday, August 15, 2009. As God blessed this campus, they held their first Biblical Empowerment Training teaching on Monday, March 15, 2010. The first service was held the KEM 3 campus on Saturday, December 4, 2010. Many souls are being saved, ill bodies are being healed, demons are being cast out in Jesus' Name. Many are receiving their deliverance because of the Prophet's obedience and because of the "Anointing"… COME AND EXPERIENCE THE POWER FOR YOURSELF!
