In April 2014 when we filed our NC State taxes and we were told that we owed $2700.00 to the state. In order to pay back the state, we set up a payment plan and was paying back $200.00 per month in order to pay it off. The earlier part of this year we were contacted by another state telling us that we were due a refund because we filed a tax return with them. We then realized our tax preparer had made an error. This was an error. Well to make a long story short. The preparer had to file an amended return and state of NC had to pay us back all of the payments we had made. We received a refund check in the amount of $2008.00. This just don’t make no sense.
